Star Line Cruises Welcome Manual
Erin Wight
Welcome and thank you for choosing Star Line Cruises for your travel needs. We hope that you will have an enjoyable stay during your trip, and please feel free to ask our staff or any of our AI communication ports any questions or requests for service needs you may have. We also ask that all passengers respect and follow Galaxy federal guidelines and rules while you are aboard this flight. If you have any questions about this as well, we are happy to help.
This Alpha 5 flight will be stopping at Tor, the Aelon solar system, the Corvic asteroid belt, and Mirr space station. For information on estimated times and connecting flights, please refer to your travel pass or access the ship’s travel route on your holo-screen for more details. Please note that this particular route will take us through two time distortions, and be sure to plan your trip accordingly. We ask that you pay attention to the following important announcements before we begin our jump to hyperdrive.
In the event of an emergency, please refer to your Star Line emergency manuals, located in your travel pouches under your seat. Most major emergencies are covered and give detailed reviews including, but not limited to: what to do in the event of the ship suddenly dropping out of hyperdrive, a star port being left open, the Botharians boarding the ship and using their tentacle mind control on guests, the crew and/or passengers becoming infected with space flu, and the ship being waylaid by space pirates. You’ll note that not included in this manual is what to do in the event of accidental entry into a black hole or an unexpected encounter with the Godarthian Empire, as both of these emergencies would result in sudden and total death. Please be assured that both of these situations are relatively rare, except for our guests traveling the Voltaric route, in which case there is a 17.9% chance of the aforementioned incidents occurring (staff members please refer to subsection 108, paragraph G in your employee manuals to read about hazard pay).
You’ll note on your holo-screen the snacks and beverage options; Star Line Cruises prides itself in offering a diverse menu that covers tastes from across the galaxy. Highlights for this particular flight include fresh, free range Yirith grub beetles buttered and salted, a variety of fermented and smoked sea salads from the Oatax Ocean (comes with your choice of dressing or acid), roasted Bralic snail lizards served with a piquant bress fruit sauce prepared in Alotia, and back by popular demand, pickled chicken feet freshly harvested from Earth. For guests who feed through osmosis, please refer to your ship’s map for locations of feed chambers. Per Galaxy federal rules and regulations, we are unable to serve guests who feed on any kind of sentient lifeform at this time, and we ask that you refrain from consuming other passengers for the duration of your flight.
Here at Star Line Cruises we understand that travel can be a stressful and lengthy process, and we want you to have as relaxing and enjoyable a time as possible while you are with us. Please access “In-Flight Entertainment” on your holo-screen to refer to options available. There is a wide range of choices, with something that will suit everyone. (Please note that not all entertainment options are available on every Star Line flight - Helium rooms and magnetic burst chambers are only available on Atrix class flights or higher.) Every flight will include exercise rooms (including special equipment for our six- and eight-limbed guests), private cubicles that can be reserved for telepathic users or for Muldren mating rituals, and our ever-popular holo-theater, which has an extensive library of movies, including a complete collection of every rom-com available from the Intergalactic database.
In the mood for a shopping spree? Select something to purchase from the comfort of your pod by perusing items of interest on your holo-screen from our Star Holo-Shop. Want to stretch your mobility appendages and leave your pod for some shopping instead? Come visit Star Infinity, the premier shopping plaza known across the galaxy and found on all Star Line Cruise vessels. With brands like ☊⎅⟒ and babyGap® there’s something for the whole genetically homogenous swarm. Vendors from across the galaxy gather to set up shops representing 187 planets and space stations as well as five inverted moon systems. Sample wares from the distant Vimyte 3 or the outer Delvian asteroid ring, only a few meters away.
For passengers looking for live entertainment, enjoy shows at the center of the Star Infinity Plaza while you shop. Listen to such soothing sounds as the braying of domesticated govets, or our talented android band, the Comets, playing the Pak Paks mixed with the harmonica. Bring your little one or larval hatchlings to the Creativity Center for a variety of activities, such as touching a micro black hole or building stardust fractals together. Wonder at slime grafting, or help design a wormhole model. Please note, Star Line Cruises is not responsible for any limbs lost while handling micro black holes in the Creativity Center.
Whether it is shopping, eating, or entertainment, we welcome our guests to explore. However, some sections are considered restricted. Please select “Ship Map” from your holo-screen or access an AI communication station if you have any questions about where something is located. You’ll note that some areas are only accessible to our Solar Plus members and will require the appropriate data chip for access. Solar Plus members are allowed one guest into the Constellation Lounge, but guests must be accompanied by members. Additionally, all passengers must keep their travel chips with them at all times. Passengers who are scanned and do not have their travel chip will be classified as stowaways and ejected from the nearest star port, per Galaxy federal rules and guidelines.
This concludes our Star Line Cruises Welcome Manual. We know your stay with us will be a pleasant one, and we encourage you to let us know if there is anything we can do to make your trip more enjoyable. As we say of all our passengers - you are the stars of the show!
