Yara Clark

Yara Elshamma Clark was born and raised in Seattle but currently calls Bellingham, Washington her home. She earned her degree in Creative Writing from Western Washington University and is working on her MFA at University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast program. Yara’s writing often focuses on her experience as an American Born Palestinian and highlights the joys and struggles of being a first generation American and a person of color. As a writer, she believes that the smallest, most unassuming moments in life are the ones that hold the most weight and emotion.
